NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM on ‘CHALLENGES & APPLICATIONS IN MATHEMATICS’

 The symposium is organized by Department of Mathematics,
SVKM’s MITHIBAI COLLEGE OF ARTS, CHAUHAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE& AMRUTBEN JIVANLAL COLLEGE OF COMMERCE AND ECONOMICS. 

Mathematics is a fundamental part of human thought and logic. It provides an effective way of building mental discipline and encourages logical reasoning. Mathematical reasoning has a wide range of applications in every field of study.This symposium addresses topics related to several applications and challenges of mathematics in real life.The main interest areas of this symposium that will be presented by our eminent speakers are:Excitements and Challenges in Mathematics, Modelling and Simulation for Defence application, An Introduction to Calculus of Several variables, From Linear Algebra to Functional Analysis, Sperner’s Lemma and Brouwer’s Fixed-point theorem.

International Doctoral Scholarship : uOttawa

The International Doctoral Scholarship is awarded to all international PhD candidates who do not receive the Differential Tuition Fee Waiver or the Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship, for a maximum of five (5) years. The International Doctoral Scholarship is awarded to reduce the tuition fees to the equivalent of the PhD Canadian tuition fees. International tuition fees will be reflected on the student account. However, with the application of the Scholarship, international PhD candidates will pay the equivalent of Canadian tuition fees for a maximum duration of five (5) years.

Think Big Postgraduate Scholarships

Prospective international students can apply for funding towards the cost of tuition fees.

Awards valued at £5,000, £10,000 and £20,000 are available. Awards must be used towards the cost of tuition fees.

Eligibility

You can apply if you:

  • have applied to start a one-year full-time postgraduate programme at the University of Bristol in September 2021.
  • are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes

Any one-year, full-time postgraduate programme.

Unibo Action 1&2: study grants and tuition fee waivers for international students

The University of Bologna offers to deserving international students who wish to register for First Cycle, Second Cycle or Single Cycle Degree Programmes at the University of Bologna for A.Y. 2021/22: 

  • study grants of €11,000 gross (Unibo Action 2)
  • Tuition fee waivers (Unibo Action 1).

The study grants and the tuition fee waivers are assigned on the basis of SAT and GRE, and some TOLC tests, for one academic year. INDIAN WOMEN AND MATHEMATICS (IWM): 
Regional Workshop on Research and Opportunities

A one day workshop, in association with Indian Women and Mathematics (IWM) is being organized at the Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai on February 21, 2021 in a blended mode. All the speakers will participate online. There will be a limited audience physically present at IIT Bhilai with the necessary Covid-19 precautions being undertaken. A much larger audience will be able to participate through online modes. This workshop is one of a series of workshops organised in different parts of the country to motivate and encourage more women mathematicians to pursue higher education in mathematics.
